Why September is perfect for taking up Taekwondo

So it’s September and the kids are back to school. Now is the perfect time to join your local Taekwondo school.

“But why is now the perfect time?” I hear you ask.

Gradings normally happen for colour belts and beginners in the following months. March, June, September, and December. This three-month cycle gives students the optimum amount of time to train and to successfully pass those gradings.  When you join at the end of August and beginning of September you give yourself and your children the perfect amount of time to get ready for the pre-Christmas grading.

So why should you grade?

Grading gives the student vital feedback and confidence. That they are getting better. As an instructor, grading is a great way to formally acknowledge how well a student is doing.  The feeling of accomplishment that a student feels after passing a grading is something that stays with them over time.

So bring your child along to a class and don’t worry if they are shy or won’t take part at first. Let them see everyone having fun taking part and wait and see them come out of their shell.
